Patoka Lake is the best place on earth to be in spring

We have a bus conversion that we travel and work out of. We have the chance to visit a lot of places and nothing compares to Patoka Lake Indiana in the Spring.
(my dog wanted to hop out of the boat, so I let him)

I think it is the sound of the birds and the myriad of places to go to hike, bike, and canoe that attracts me. Patoka Lake offers many cabin rental and camping opportunities and is litterly ringed by public lands.
Fishing is HOT in the spring. 100+ crappie in 4 hours is no problem.
I believe April and May midweek are the best times to visit. It is well worth taking a vacation day or two if you have to.
Patoka Lake is the easiest place to plan a trip to in Indiana. There are weeks worth of activities to do within 10 miles of Patoka Lake.
